Dry docking

Dry Docking

Increase the lifetime of your vessel

Our experience in providing coating solutions for vessels in dry dock is second to none. All PPG products are designed to help increase both the lifetime of a vessel and also the productivity at the shipyard.

The marine environment is highly corrosive. Many of the cargoes, both liquids and solids, are also corrosive and/or cause wear and tear in service.

Ships are substantial assets, but their value declines with age as normal wear and tear takes place. Dry dock maintenance with our high quality, robust coatings prevent the steel from returning to its original oxidized state during the course of the vessel's service life. This, in turn, helps to slow the rate of decline in value of the vessel while also providing a substantial increase in service life and retaining the ship’s aesthetic beauty.

In addition to corrosion control, we also offer a complete range of antifouling and fouling release coatings that are engineered to deliver vast fuel savings. As well as lowering total operational costs, these products minimize the environmental footprint of the vessel.

Vessel owners can also reduce their ongoing maintenance costs as our proven marine coatings deliver consistent performance and long-lasting protection in all operational conditions.
