PPG unveils step change in cargo tank coatings with PHENGUARD Pro system
PPG Industries' protective and marine coatings business has unveiled the PHENGUARD™ Pro tank coating system, which offers unrivaled benefits to shipyards and ship owners. For shipyards and at installation, the system provides potential efficiency gains of as much as 20 percent compared to traditional three-layer coating systems. For ship owners, it provides the widest chemical resistance and the longest carriage time on the market of more than 3,400 cargoes, delivering maximum flexibility to the product tanker trades.

PPG completes COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project in Clayton, Victoria, Australia
PPG Industries today announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ charitable-giving project at the site of the soon-to-open Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton, Victoria, Australia. The Colorful Communities program provided PPG employee volunteers and products to bring color to the hospital site along with a team of local primary school students. Launched earlier this year, the program expands PPG’s investment in communities where the company operates around the world by committing an additional $10 million over 10 years.

PPG donates coatings to refurbish iconic Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster
PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) protective and marine coatings (PMC) business announced it is supplying as much as 700 gallons of paint to refurbish the Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster at Luna Park, which is regarded as one of the world’s most famous amusement park rides.

PPG announces leadership changes
PPG Industries today announced the appointment of David Bem as vice president, science and technology, and chief technology officer-elect (CTO-elect) effective Nov. 16. In the CTO role, Bem will succeed Charles F. Kahle II, who has announced plans to retire effective March 1, 2016.
