PPG donates more than $77,500 for programs in fiber glass plant communities
The PPG Industries Foundation has donated more than $77,500 to 18 different organizations for educational and human-services programs on behalf of PPG Industries’ fiber glass manufacturing facilities in the Carolinas. Each grant represents the company’s commitment to supporting local organizations that provide needed resources in the communities where its employees work and live.

PPG to acquire Panama-based protective and marine coatings distributor
PPG Industries today announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Canal Supplies, Inc. (CSI), a privately-owned distributor of protective and marine coatings to customers in Central America. The company is based in Panama. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter, subject to customary closing conditions.

PPG partners with The Coatings Alliance to produce C2 Paint brand, expand distribution
PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) today announced that its North American architectural coatings business has taken a minority equity position in The Coatings Alliance, LLC (TCA), a cooperative of 42 paint dealers in the U.S. and Canada. TCA is based in Buffalo, N.Y. Financial terms were not disclosed.

PPG to invest $27 million in San Juan del Rio facility
PPG Industries today announced plans to invest more than $27 million in its San Juan del Rio, Queretaro, Mexico, coatings manufacturing facility. The expansion project will add four new buildings to the current complex, representing approximately 100,000 square feet of additional production and laboratory space. The company officially initiated the expansion today with a groundbreaking event and anticipates completion in 2015.

PPG delivers superior coating performance inside and out for Africa Pipe Industries
PPG Industries' (NYSE:PPG) protective and marine coatings business has completed a major project for Africa Pipe Industries, supplying internal and external coatings on a 46-kilometer, 2.1-meter diameter pipeline installed for South African utility Rand Water. PPG supplied SIGMALINE™ 523 coating as an internal lining and SIGMALINE 855 coating for external protection on the pipe installed at Sasolburg in the Free State region.

PPG PMC business terminates licensee agreement with Comex Group in Mexico
PPG Industries’ protective and marine coatings (PMC) business announced that it has terminated its licensee agreement with Comex Group in Mexico and that customers in that country can now order AMERCOAT(R) brand products directly from PPG.

PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) today announced that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Hi-Temp Coatings Technology Co., Inc., a privately-owned supplier of high-temperature-resistant and insulative coatings, based in Boxborough, Mass.

PPG supports Rome Grade School pre-kindergarten
Employees from PPG Industries’ industrial coatings manufacturing facility in Mt. Vernon, Ill. present a PPG Industries Foundation check for $995.49 to support Rome Grade School’s pre-kindergarten program. The grant will pay for classroom supplies to help 41 pre-K students prepare for kindergarten.
