PPG donates more than $20,000 for Decatur-area programs

The PPG Industries Foundation has donated more than $20,000 to seven Decatur-area programs and organizations focusing on education and human services. Each grant was made on behalf of PPG’s flat glass manufacturing facility in Mount Zion, Ill., and represents PPG Industries’ commitment to supporting local organizations that provide needed resources in the community.
 

The PPG Industries Foundation has donated more than $20,000 on behalf of the PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) flat glass manufacturing facility in Mount Zion, Ill., for seven Decatur-area programs and organizations focusing on education and human services. Here, PPG Mount Zion Manufacturing Manager John Gauthier accepts “Outstanding Business Partner” recognition on behalf of the facility during the recent annual Partners’ Salute of Partners in Education, a program of Richland Community College that is one of the seven initiatives PPG supported.

MOUNT ZION, Ill., April 30, 2014 – The PPG Industries Foundation has donated more than $20,000 to seven Decatur-area programs and organizations focusing on education and human services. Each grant was made on behalf of PPG’s flat glass manufacturing facility in Mount Zion, Ill., and represents PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) commitment to supporting local organizations that provide needed resources in the community.

The recent grants helped:

Partners in Education recently recognized PPG Mount Zion as “Outstanding Business Partner” during its annual Partners’ Salute for strong support of educational programs in the community.

“Each of these organizations does great work by offering opportunities and support in the Decatur area, and we hope this funding helps them continue and expand their valued efforts,” said John Gauthier, manufacturing manager at PPG Mount Zion. “PPG is pleased to support organizations that directly impact its communities and improve the lives of our youth and other neighbors.”
