WAYNE CITY, Ill., April 14, 2014 – Jeff McKay, quality control technician at PPG Industries’ industrial coatings manufacturing facility in Mt. Vernon, Ill., presents to Jessica Fagan, Wayne City Grade School art teacher, a $1,000 PPG Industries Foundation check to fund a two-year subscription to Quaver Marvelous World of Music. The subscription will promote high-energy learning for all students in the school by providing them with interactive education on the science of sound. Chris Campbell, PPG Mt. Vernon facility manager, said that the company and its foundation strongly support community outreach and education. “This program teaches students about the science of sound as it relates to the art of music, which can help expand learning capability by exercising both sides of the brain. We’re pleased to fund the subscription so Wayne City Grade School can offer this unique program and enhance its music education.”
