PPG announces automotive and industrial coatings price increases in Europe
PPG today announced that it will implement customer-specific price increases and surcharges in Europe to offset a significant rise in raw material costs. The price changes will impact a select group of automotive OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and industrial coatings products, effective May 1 or as contracts permit.

PPG begins COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project at Alabama Constitution Village in Huntsville
PPG today announced the start of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project in Huntsville, Alabama, to help renovate and beautify Constitution Hall and the site at Alabama Constitution Village, which is considered to be the birthplace of Alabama. As part of the effort, on Saturday, March 25, about 50 volunteers will serve as volunteer painters, gardeners and landscapers on the Constitution Hall grounds. The volunteers include PPG employees and family members, team members of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama, and employees of the EarlyWorks Family of Museums that operates Alabama Constitution Village.

PPG makes revised proposal to combine with AkzoNobel
PPG today announced that it made a revised proposal on March 20, 2017 to acquire Akzo Nobel N.V. for €90.00 (cum dividend) per ordinary share, comprised of cash of €57.50 and 0.331 share of PPG common stock. This represents an increase of €7.00 per ordinary share from PPG’s initial offer. Including the assumption of net debt and minority interests, the proposed transaction is valued at approximately €24.5 billion, or $26.3 billion.

PPG confirms proposal for AkzoNobel
PPG today confirmed that it made an attractive and comprehensive proposal to Akzo Nobel N.V. on March 2, 2017, inviting AkzoNobel to enter into negotiations with PPG on a potential transaction to form a combined company, which AkzoNobel rejected.

PPG today announced the winner of its sponsored prize package in the Pittsburgh Penguins “Golden Ticket” sweepstakes to help celebrate the NHL team’s 50th anniversary season. Rob Wentzel of the Dormont area of Pittsburgh will visit the PPG PAINTS™ store at 3315 Saw Mill Run Blvd. in the South Hills on March 9 to claim his PPG-sponsored prize as well as a Penguins® Golden Ticket, which offers him a 1-in-50 chance to win the Penguins Grand Prize of two Penguins season tickets for 20 years.

PPG marks completion of $19 million waterborne automotive coatings production line in Wuhu, China
PPG today marked the completion of a new $19 million high-performance waterborne and high-solids coatings production line at its Wuhu facility in Anhui province, China. The new line enhances the production and service capabilities of PPG’s automotive coatings business for customers in China.

PPG announces exclusive paint partnership with National Hockey League
PPG today announced it has reached a multiyear corporate marketing agreement with the National Hockey League (NHL) to make PPG paint brands the Official Paint of the NHL® in the U.S. and Canada. Financial details and terms were not disclosed.

PPG regional Charity Partner program provides about US$110,000 support in first year
PPG announced today that, in the first year of the company’s regional Charity Partner program, the company joined with employees across 12 countries and more than 60 PPG sites in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region to support selected charities with more than US$110,000 in total. The program, launched in February 2016, supports the interests and passions of employees who donate their time, money and expertise to build better communities by providing corporate matching for charitable contributions and fundraising.

PPG brings fresh look for American Legion Post No. 1 in Germantown, Wisconsin
The PPG plant in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, has planned a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project this Saturday, Feb. 11, at American Legion Post No. 1 in nearby Germantown. The Colorful Communities program provides PPG employee volunteers and products, along with financial contributions, to bring color and vitality to communities where PPG operates around the world, such as southeast Wisconsin.

Three projects with PPG coatings named among top structures of 2016 by SSPC
PPG announced that three projects finished with PPG protective and marine coatings products were recognized by the Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC) at its annual Structure Awards ceremony, during the SSPC Annual Conference and Exhibition in Tampa, Florida.
