PPG PMC business shares SSPC honor for coating on USS Freedom
PPG Industries’ protective and marine coatings (PMC) business received The Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC) 2014 Military Coatings Project Award of Excellence for the performance of AMERCOAT® 240 and PSX® 700SG coatings on the USS Freedom, the lead ship of the U.S. Navy’s littoral combat fleet.

PPG supports Fairfield Community High School

PPG to acquire high-heat-resistant coatings supplier
PPG Industries today announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Hi-Temp Coatings Technology Co., Inc., a privately-owned supplier of high-temperature-resistant and insulative coatings, based in Boxborough, Mass. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter, subject to customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

PPG donates $6,000 to Tickets for Kids Charities
The PPG Industries Foundation has donated $6,000 to TICKETS FOR KIDS® Charities (TFK), a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit organization that distributes tickets to arts, cultural, educational, family entertainment and sporting events through social-service agencies nationwide to at-risk children and low-income families. The grant will help increase TFK offerings in West Coast communities where PPG’s aerospace business has operations.

PPG PMC awarded contract renewal with U.S. Navy Military Sealift Command

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 16, 2014 – The board of directors of PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) today declared a regular quarterly dividend of 61 cents per share, payable March 12 to shareholders of record Feb. 21.

PPG reports record fourth quarter and full-year 2013 results
PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) today reported record fourth quarter 2013 net sales from continuing operations of $3.7 billion, up $459 million, or 14 percent, versus the prior year. Fourth quarter 2013 reported net income from continuing operations was $254 million, or $1.78 per diluted share. Fourth quarter 2013 adjusted net income from continuing operations was $258 million, or $1.81 per diluted share, which excludes $4 million, or 3 cents per diluted share, for acquisition-related costs. Fourth quarter 2012 reported net income and earnings per diluted share from continuing operations were $191 million and $1.23, respectively, and adjusted net income from continuing operations was $194 million, or $1.25 per diluted share, respectively, excluding $3 million, or 2 cents per diluted share, for acquisition-related costs.

PPG donates $15,000 to Academics in Motion through Steelers partnership
The PPG Industries Foundation, in partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has donated $15,000 to Academics in Motion (AIM) to make this national program available in two Pittsburgh-area high schools – Steel Valley and Aliquippa.
