Innovative coating solution for harsh chemical exposure in wastewater and water environments

The PPG AQUATAFLEX Series is a breakthrough in protective coatings technology with a unique Tri-Hybrid chemistry that helps protect your infrastructure from chemical attack. It is the best of three worlds — the chemical resistance of an epoxy, the flexibility and abrasion resistance of a polyurethane, and the fast cure of a polyurea.

High performance coating benefits

  • Chemical resistance
  • Abrasion resistance
  • Moisture vapor transmission barrier
  • Flexibility
  • High solids, low VOC*
  • Quick return-to-service
  • ANSI-61 certified
  • USDA certified bio-based product

*PPG AQUATAFLEX 505: VOC <5g/L | PPG AQUATAFLEX 506: VOC <3g/L

Designed for both wastewater and water coating applications

PPG AQUATAFLEX coatings can be used on substrates such as concrete, steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and wood.

Typical applications

  • Concrete or steel wastewater/water lining
  • Potable water tanks, reservoirs, basins, and pipes
  • Primary and secondary containment
  • Clarifiers and digesters
  • Aquatic wildlife habitats
  • Concrete waterproofing
  • Geotextile fabric lining

Coatings for potable water and water storage

PPG AQUATAFLEX products are ANSI-61 certified as safe to use for potable water applications such as tanks and pipes. These coatings offer flexibility where there is movement in steel or concrete and withstand harsh chemical exposure — combining both strength and performance to protect potable water structures.

Coatings for wastewater treatment facilities

PPG AQUATAFLEX products can handle aggressive sanitary sewer environments, based on the results of our Severe Wastewater Analysis Testing (SWAT) ASTM G 210 and Pickle Jar Test. These products are a part of our PPG Wastewater Systems portfolio. See more here.
