PPG SIGMAGLIDE 2390 fouling release coating electrostatic application at Gemak shipyard in Turkey
PPG’s electrostatic application of SIGMAGLIDE® 2390 on Sunbelt Spirit at Gemak shipyard delivers a smooth, uniform coating with less overspray, lower VOCs, and reduced time, cost, and waste.

Proud of another great electrostatic application project that was recently completed at Gemak shipyard in Turkey.
PPG SIGMAGLIDE® 2390 system was applied on the Sunbelt Spirit, one of Great American Lines’ vehicle carriers.
Electrostatic application is a more sustainable way of applying paint. The charged paint droplets are attracted to the surface like a magnet. It not only leads to a uniform, super smooth film layer, but it also results in a significant reduction in coating overspray and waste.
Electrostatic application reduces the need for masking the vessel and cleaning the dock after application, saving valuable time and costs. That, combined with the low VOC emissions of PPG Sigmaglide 2390 coating, provides a cleaner operation and improved work environment for applicators compared to airless spraying.
