In response to the growing challenges of access to water and the efficient management of water resources, PPG, a global leader in industrial coatings, presented SIGMALINE™ 855 (11) in Mexico, a solution designed to strengthen the hydraulic infrastructure of manufacturing companies and contribute to more sustainable development.
The presentation took place during PPG's Water Day, an event focused on solutions for protecting pipelines, water supply systems, and water treatment systems. The event highlighted the importance of technologies that drive both operational efficiency and environmental responsibility in industrial environments.
Sigmaline 855 is a solvent-free aromatic polyurethane coating that offers high resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and impact, making it especially useful in manufacturing plants that require reliable hydraulic systems for their production processes. Thanks to a drying time of less than seven minutes, this technology enables rapid application and commissioning of new or maintained infrastructure.
“In both maintenance processes and new hydraulic systems, every component counts. Today, we have technologies that extend the lifespan of systems, enable faster progress, and expedite the return to operations, making a significant difference in civil and industrial infrastructure projects,” emphasized Ricardo Robles, B2B Commercial Director at PPG Comex.
The solution meets international certifications such as NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372 for contact with potable water, as well as AWWA C222-2018, making it ideal for both internal and external applications in demanding industrial environments.
In a country like Mexico, where water infrastructure faces complex challenges due to its diverse climate and topography, the use of innovative coatings like Sigmaline 855 becomes a key factor in ensuring the efficient and sustainable operation of industrial plants.
In addition to its technical benefits, this solution is part of PPG 's strategy to promote technologies that minimize environmental impact by eliminating harmful solvents and reducing the use of non-renewable materials.
With initiatives like this, PPG reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the development of solutions that not only protect infrastructure but also support industries in their transition to more responsible and resilient models.
