Both our PPG SIGMAGLIDE and PPG NEXEON coatings are specifically designed for electrostatic application, a sustainable spraying method that is increasing in demand by shipowners and shipyards. Thanks to an electrostatic field, the paint droplets are attracted to the surface like a magnet. This not only leads to a uniform and ultra-smooth coating surface, it also reduces overspray leading to a significant decrease in waste.
Electrostatic application reduces the need for masking the vessel and cleaning the dock after application, saving valuable time and costs. That, combined with low VOC emissions of PPG SIGMAGLIDE® 2390 coating, provides a cleaner operation and improved work environment for applicators compared to airless spraying.
