PMC and Aerospace Businesses Team Up on Unique Product Packaging
PPG’s protective and marine coatings (PMC) customers across an array of industries now have a new and convenient option to complete coatings touchup projects. Through a partnership with PPG’s aerospace application support center (ASC) in Indianapolis, the PMC business has launched a variety of its most popular products in easy-to-use touch up cartridge packaging.
The PMC and aerospace teams partnered to solve a common problem — cutting down on waste and labor costs when touching-up our customers’ assets. The cost-efficient cartridges can be used for spray or brush applications and save customers on valuable time and labor.
The cartridge packaging is currently used in a variety of aerospace applications that are essential to the operations of key PPG customers. The unique and innovative packaging systems from PPG’s aerospace business provide accurate dispensing for most industrial fluids and offered an optimal solution for the PMC business.
According to Megan Zatezalo, senior marketing manager, PMC, this cross-business endeavor successfully launched despite facing challenges related to the global coronavirus crisis.
“In this trying time, our customers are relying on us for the products and technologies that reduce costs and wastes and maximize project productivity,” said Zatezalo. “From marine to industrial maintenance to tank applications, when it comes to complex projects and important assets, the new cartridge packaging will make touch ups easier than ever before.
Following the launch, the cartridge program continues to be a cross-business effort. All orders are filled and shipped by the aerospace business directly to PMC customers or PPG store locations.
“PPG’s aerospace business has more than 30 years of expertise and experience in handling the packaging and dispensing of our coatings products,” said Connie Poulsen, business manager, ASC- Indianapolis, aerospace. “Sharing the cartridge packaging technology across business units and industries is a clear commitment to One PPG for the benefit of our customers.”
The joint PMC and aerospace team partnered with Sulzer, a global leader in fluid engineering with specialization in application technologies, to implement the cartridge offerings.
