The Challenge

Provide a long-lasting, high-performance durable coating system that withstands aggressive chemical cleaning and harsh conditions in Hiland Dairy's loadout area.

The Solution

PPG AMERLOCK^® 2 was applied as a prime coat, followed by a polyurea base coat of PPG SANISHIELD 3000 (40 mils DFT). One hour later, a polyurea protective topcoat of PPG SANISHIELD 5000 (15 mils DFT) was applied. The loadout area was put into service hours later, as tanker trucks began rolling in. PPG SANISHIELD 3000/5000 will stand up to the daily wash downs with harsh chemicals including cleaning agents, sanitizers and disinfectants, typical treatment for food manufacturing wall coatings.

The Benefits

PPG SANISHIELD 3000/5000 is a cleanable coating for food manufacturing and is an effective alternative to fiberglass and stainless-steel wall systems. With a fast cure and high film build, the polyurea spray coating system allows for short shutdown interruptions and is ideal for walls and ceilings in cold storage, food manufacturing plants and pharmaceutical facilities.

The Result

The protection provided by the PPG SANISHIELD 3000/5000 polyurea protective coating reduces the frequency and cost of future maintenance and repair work. It is engineered to prevent issues like peeling paint, flaking rust, and porous substrates to be a long-term solution that delivers lasting results.
